Before starting my small CPA firm, I spent over 16 years working in other small to mid-size public accounting firms. This gave me the opportunity to gain exposure in working with clients of all sizes & across all industries.
I loved my clients, I loved my work, and that time gave me what I needed to develop a personal approach for building the perfect small CPA firm for creative entrepreneurs & small businesses.
With a true passion for helping small businesses achieve long-term success, I promise to always do my best to exceed expectations & deliver the highest level of client service possible!
The Entrepreneurial Journey
I graduated from the University of Georgia (Gooooooo Dawgs!) with a BBA in Accounting & went straight to work for Trinity Accounting Group (a local CPA firm in Athens, GA), where I was blessed with the opportunity to learn from the best! During my time there, I gained almost 9 years of experience, earned a Masters in Accounting from Auburn University, & became a licensed CPA!
The next 4 years of my career path were spent with a smaller Athens based CPA firm, Turner and Patat. During this time, I was able to build on my tax knowledge & enjoyed mentoring my co-workers. These years were invaluable to me as I was entrusted with a higher level of responsibility & able to develop more intimate relationships with my clients.
As a wife & mom of 2 (Emmet & Etta Maye), I longed for the opportunity to work from home & be actively involved in my kids' school activities. I am thankful to have found that opportunity with Amy Northard CPA, the Accountants for Creatives, a virtual accounting firm. It was during my employment with Amy Northard CPA that I realized two very important things: my passion for working with Creatives and my need for social interaction. And after almost 3 years of working as a virtual CPA, I decided to embark on my own entrepreneurial journey!
